Here's the dialogue

Pretty Boy Floyd Exposed

I tried sending this to sludge several times. But for some reason they never replied. Probably because they are in bed with PBF now? Everyone knows about the Ariel Styles controversy but not many know about this one.

Anyway long and short of it is. The original Pretty Boy Floyd was from Vancouver. They had an album out long before the LA band. They were in Kerrang, Hit Parader, Rip, Metal Edge, Burnn etc. long before the LA band came on the scene. The Vancouver band asked the LA band to politely change their name and were basically told to fuck off. This is when the Vancouver band were in the top 10 on the British indie charts. The LA band had the forsight to start trademark proceedings in the states before the Vancouver band.

The Vancouver PBF meanwhile was opening for the likes of Skid Row, Hurricane, Savatage etc. and were demoing for Atlantic records. Thanks to Snake from Skid Row who passed on their album to an A&R rep at the label. Then lawyers got involved, Long and short, the LA band had more money behind them and the Vancouver band much to their dismay, settled out of court for a large sum of money.

The most comical thing about this was, when PBF LA got signed to MCA, Kerrang magazine had a big headline in their news section saying "Floyd Signs To MCA" with a picture of the Vancouver band. The Vancouver band changed their name to Tommy Floyd and disbanded about 2 years later.

BBF, I don't follow your logic. If you don't care about PBF why did sludge have PBF on their MSX 2003 tour? Why did you have a 20 questions with Steve Summers a few months back? Seems like you do care about them alot?

Here is the deal... there is NOTHING to expose. This has already been discussed here and other places many times. No need to be redundant.

Hell, if you ask me the Vancouver PBF got off lucky. They are probably sitting around their suburban Vancouver homes enjoying their day off from UPS and sucking down some LaBatt's while watching hockey.

The PBF from California are still trying to eek out a living playing in front of 25 people and trying to convince fat, acne-scarred teenage girls to give them blowjobs and cash for blow.

the concept of the "exposed page" is to show our usual rockers back in time where they werent famous or they were trying to break, to see how glam were the grungers, how nerdy were the glamsters.

Canadian PBF are not LA PBF exposed, because they are a different band.

And the story of the same name etc etc is old.

Are you sure about that? I mean, you are asking a question since you finished your sentence with a question mark. So you sound like you're not sure of yourself. You need to have some confidence.

You're new, aren't you? We've done 20 Questions with hundreds of bands, that doesn't mean we care about every one of them. Steve Summers was on our tour so thus it made sense to do 20 Questions with him at the time.

And when was the last time we wrote about PBF? Back when they were on the MSX Tour. And it's not like we had a meeting and sat down and said, "We need a tour with Pretty Boy Floyd!" Artists Worldwide came to us with that lineup. That's no secret. So we said, "Sure, why not?" They have their fans and they made sure the tour was supplied with drugs, so what more do you want? They do what they do and they did a good job on the tour. But that doesn't mean we're swinging from their nuts or going to report a stupid thing about some other Pretty Boy Floyd band from Canada. That's like a 14 year old story. Who gives a fuck? There's no story there. Nobody cares but you since you're the one who sounds like you have a problem with Pretty Boy Floyd and keep trying to get this info out there, as if you solved the death of Marilyn Monroe or something.

As for me getting defensive, you have no clue, do you? You'll know when I'm getting defensive because I'll be standing behind you with a baseball bat bashing your head in while you're trying to post stupid threads on the Gossip Board.
